Battlefield 3 Campaign Lasts 12 Hours

Upcoming shooter Battlefield 3 is set to buck the trend for short FPS campaigns with a 12-hour singleplayer tale, according to reports.

In an interview with developer DICE’s general manager Karl Troedsson, a reporter from Games.on.net references a 12-hour campaign.

“Naturally we want to introduce more people to our franchise,” Troedsson explained. “A lot of people don't want to jump straight into multiplayer. They want to feel around a bit [before] they're ready to move over to online.

Battlefield 3 interview - 256 players... Please!

In a recent interview with game site Atomic, DICE’s Patrick Bach revealed that Battlefiled 3 can technically support up to 256 players, but testing showed that 64 players was better than both 128 and 256 players. Bach said:

“Technically, we can go to 256, we’ve tried it. We play tested with 128. You’ve got to make a game that’s fun to play. And, arguably, we think that the most fun you can have is when it’s between 32 and 40 players. And we’ve done substantial research into this and tested 128 and that it’s not fun.”
